Program Designs - Addressing Employee Issues Using The Job Fit & Development Review®

The Job Fit and Development Review® is an Internet tool for a manager’s “tool kit” that is built on SIMA® principles. It helps managers to address various “people” related issues, and it also helps employees to examine job fit and their needs for development.

A Manager Can Use To
  • Have meaningful dialogs with employees about their performance, development, utilization, job fit, perceptions of the job, and what it takes to be successful.

  • Better understand employees in order to bring added value to them

  • Address conflict or performance issues in a constructive manner.

  • Help employees who are:
    • Seeking to be better understood and more effectively managed.
    • Seeking to better define development needs.
    • Seeking guidance on identifying work that would be more meaningful.
    • Trying to decide whether their current job is a good fit or not.
    • Seeking counsel on ways to better manage strengths and areas of weakness.
    • Not performing well, not focusing on what the job requires or prioritizing aspects of the job incorrectly.
    • Experiencing conflict with their manager

Process

  • Employee completes the Job Fit and Development Review® on-line at www.peoplemanagementsmd.com/jobfit.asp, answering 105 questions.

  • A report is generated instantly and e-mailed to the employee or manager.

Options

  • Use existing questions that are broad ranging.

  • For large-scale applications, shape questions to be more job specific.

  • Profile successful performers to identify motivated qualities and use to shape questions.
